Khuddam From Connecticut have Honour of a Meeting with Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
“No matter what happens, do not miss your prayers.” – Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad
On 14 January 2024, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad held a meeting with young members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community aged 18 to 40, from Connecticut, USA.
23 Khuddam had travelled to the UK for the meeting which was held in Islamabad, Tilford.
During the meeting, His Holiness spoke with every attendee and enquired about their visit, wellbeing and education.
Attendees had the opportunity to ask His Holiness questions about faith and contemporary issues.
One attendee sought His Holiness’ advice on the use of homeopathic medicine whilst undergoing allopathic treatment.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“We should not rely on and trust only one [type of] medicine. If you think that homeopathy can be useful for the treatment for an ailment, even as a supplement, then you can use it… Once Hazrat Musleh Maud (may Allah be pleased with him) [Second Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community] was taking some medicine. He took allopathic medicine first, then native Ayurvedic medicine, then after that he took homeopathic medicine. Somebody standing by asked him how he would know which medicine would work after having taken the different medicines. He replied, ‘I don’t trust any of those medicines. I trust in Allah the Almighty. I don’t know which of the medicine has been blessed by Allah the Almighty to work on my ailment. So, this is why I’m using all of them.’”
Another attendee asked about the ‘afterlife’ and whether that life would be ever-lasting.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad answered:
“The concept of time is beyond our comprehension – in the Hereafter. So, even if there is limited time in the Eyes of Allah the Almighty, it is unlimited for us. You cannot say when it is going to end. In relative terms, we don’t know. Allah the Almighty says that His one day is equal to 50,000 years. In another place He says that His one day is equal to one thousand years, and if you multiply them, you get billions of years. So, in relative terms, we don’t know when that time is going to end.”
An attendee expressed that the group’s intentions for travelling to the UK was to offer all their five daily prayers behind His Holiness in congregation. He asked His Holiness what they could all take away from this visit.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:
“Try to always be particular in offering your five daily prayers on time. No matter what happens, do not miss your prayers. That should be the main thing which you should emphasise and be particular on.”
During the meeting, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad addressed the topic of conveying the message of Islam, even when people do not pay much attention.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad stated:
“Our job is to convey the message and to preach as much as we can by distributing literature, pamphlets, brochures and using social media. The fruits and outcome are in the Hands of Allah the Almighty. Whenever He wishes, He will give you the fruits.”
Another attendee asked His Holiness for advice regarding marriage and how to have a successful relationship with one’s spouse and in-laws.
His Holiness lightheartedly explained the need for patience and tolerance in marriage.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“Nobody is perfect. Always show patience for your wife. Whenever you see any shortcoming – close your eyes, close your ears, close your mouth. [Then] your life will be okay!”
